Border service publishes new residency renewal checklist for workers and students
Applicants renewing residence status can now review one standardized checklist before visiting a service center.
The Directorate of Immigration and Borders has released a consolidated residency renewal checklist covering workers, students, and family dependants. The update sets out the minimum documents required for identification, proof of address, sponsor verification where relevant, and payment confirmation.
According to the ministry, the checklist responds to frequent avoidable delays caused by incomplete applications. Provincial offices have also been instructed to display the same guidance on counters and waiting-area screens so that applicants receive consistent information regardless of location.
The directorate said the change should reduce processing delays and help officers focus on verification rather than repeated file correction.
