Civil Protection Agency completes a pre-rainy-season readiness review
Regional offices reviewed shelters, volunteer rosters, public warning systems, and emergency fuel reserves ahead of seasonal weather risks.
Alteria Interior's National Civil Protection Agency said its March 2026 readiness review found that most provincial emergency stores, evacuation sites, and alerting arrangements are ready for the rainy season. The review covered flood-prone communities, urban drainage chokepoints, and inter-agency communication procedures between local authorities and national control rooms.
The agency directed several districts to complete minor repairs on warning sirens, improve backup power availability, and refresh public signage at temporary shelter sites. Volunteer coordinators were also asked to complete a final drill cycle before April.
Officials said the review is part of routine preparedness and is meant to make local response more orderly if severe weather affects communities.
